An Answer To Mother
Mother, don’t worry. I know it looks bad, But we boys remember the prayers we’ve had We love you, pray for you, hope for you too, That soon this will be over and we can do, The things that have been utmost in our mind, To come home to you, to work or to college and the grind. To make the best of our service training here, Then when it’s over, peace in Vietnam shall end your fear. For those of us here, the experience has been good, We miss and appreciate our home and good food. To our family, our beautiful country and friends. We can’t thank God enough because it will end. Then we shall show up with laughter and play, To not only brighten ours, but also your day. Our family circle, shall be united again, And then shall we sound the loud Amen.
