Port Henry — Lawrence G. Putnam, 74, of Switchback Road, Port Henry, N.Y., died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at the Porter Medical Center, Middlebury, Vt.

He was born June 25, 1929, in Port Henry, N.Y., the son of Kenneth Putnam Sr. and Florence (Cowin) Putnam.

Lawrence was a self-employed farmer. He had also worked at the Moriah Central School. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

He was predeceased by his wife, Laura (Cifrian) Putnam on May 10, 1994.

Survivors include his daughter, Lorrie Rafferty of Crown Point; his son, Larry Putnam of Port Henry; his grandson, Andrew Rafferty of Crown Point; three sisters, McIvina Baker of Port Henry, Anne Boyle of Port Henry and Lynne Tompkins of Lewis; a brother, Paul Putnam of Colchester, Vt.; and nieces and nephews.
